The images in Figure 6.12 illustrate the effect of pixel size on the visual appearance of an area. The first image is a SPOT image of 10 meter pixel size derived by merging a SPOT panchromatic image with a SPOT multi-spectral image. The subsequent images show the effects of digitizing the same area with larger pixel sizes.
